Catching Up with the Caylee Anthony Case
August 11, 2008
There have been several new developments in the case of Casey Anthony and her missing 2-year-old daughter, Caylee Anthony.
On August 5, Casey was formally charged with a felony count of child neglect and another misdemeanor offense.
The following day, investigators executed a search warrant at Casey's home and removed several articles of clothing from Casey's closet.
According to the search warrant, Casey's mother, Cindy Anthony, recently told investigators that she had found clothing inside the vehicle Casey had been driving before she made her first 911 call. Cindy "removed the pants and washed them due to the fact that they smelled like the car," the report said.
Also on August 6, Bryan Crews, the attorney for the parents of Jesus Ortiz, a young man who some armchair detectives suspect is Caylee's father, held a news conference and said that his parents had never heard of Casey Anthony.
"This is the first they were ever told that Caylee might be a grandchild of theirs," Crews said. "They became interested in that, because that's all they would have left of their son, who died at age 20. This is a real surprise to them. I think another news station broke the story to them as a 'hello, big surprise' at their front door, and that was a very shocking event for them. Since that time, they've gotten unwanted media attention."
Crews said that the Ortiz family does not believe that Jesus is Caylee's father. Casey's parents also deny that he has any relation to Caylee. Despite both families' beliefs, the Orange County Sherriff's Office is investigating the allegations and has requested a copy of the police reports regarding the accident that killed Jesus.
During an interview on Fox News, Casey's father, George Anthony, admitted, despite previous denials, that his daughter had in fact stolen the gas cans from his shed. George said he found the cans in the trunk of the car Casey was driving when he went looking for a tire tool.
In addition to the gas can revelation, Cindy Anthony has come forward and told investigators that she has been receiving death threats via phone calls, e-mails and letters. Investigators are currently looking into the incidents.
On August 7, Mark Fuhrman spoke with Fox TV host Greta Van Susteren and said that he had met with investigators from the Orange County Sheriff's Office and was told about a "flurry" of calls Casey had placed to her parents on June 16. However, when questioned about Fuhrman's claim, Capt. Angelo Nieves had no comment on the alleged calls.
"We didn't discuss anything official with him," Nieves told Orlandosentinel.com.
While Nieves had little to say about the calls, sources close to the investigation have revealed that investigators have gone over every page of Casey's cell phone records and have not found a single call or text message to or from anyone named Zenaida Gonzalez, the woman Casey claimed was Caylee's babysitter.
Another interesting development occurred on August 8, when Casey refused to see her brother when he arrived for a previously scheduled jail visit.
"I've just been informed by the visitation supervisor that when the visitation session started, Casey Anthony was not at the visitation unit over in her housing area. A correctional officer came on over the screen and told Mr. Anthony that Casey did not wish to have the visit occur, and then he left," Allen Moore, public information officer for the Orange County Corrections Department, told WFTV.com, adding, "She did not wish to have the visit. No reason was given for this. It's the inmate's right not to conduct a visitation if they choose to."
Later that night, supporters and members of the community attended a vigil for Caylee Anthony.
"Your prayers and support means more than you can even imagine," George said, addressing the small crowd. "Thank you for giving me some strength."
On August 8, WFTV.com reported that investigators suspect Caylee may have drowned in the family swimming pool on June 16, the day Fuhrman said Casey had made a "flurry" of phone calls to her parents.
"A possibility being considered is Caylee could've gotten into the backyard pool on her own and was discovered too late," reads the article at WFTV.com.
The article also revealed that investigators are conducting further tests on Casey's car to determine whether there is evidence of decomposition.
The most recent development in this case occurred yesterday, one day after Caylee's third birthday, when Casey declined a scheduled visitation with her parents.
"Orange County Corrections does not inquire as to why an inmate decides to decline a visitation," Moore told Myfoxorlando.com, adding, "Cynthia and George Anthony were notified by phone that their daughter had declined today's scheduled visit."
Casey is scheduled for two more visits this coming week with her brother and parents. It remains unclear whether those visits will take place.

Not surprising that she refused the visit. Has many elements attached to it. Aside from Mommy Dearest not wanting to answer any questions from her pareents or look into their pained and tormented eyes it is also a power/control playby Casey plus payback for her Mom cancelling the visit last week. Remeber her remarks when arrested? "All they want is Caylee back."
Casey knows that she has no one to answer to as to why she did not want the visits whereas her parents and brother have to put up with the fstalkiing of news breaking bultures armed with microphones in their talons that are thrusted into the faces of these poor people while a crowd of news nuisances demand to know why it happened and how did it make oin her throne-an icy cold metal bunk with a thin squeaky plastic coated mattress and a scratchy scrap of material they call a blanket.
Casey needs to be reminded herself as to the words that she wrote her Mother on the myspace page--Something like "With great power come great consiequences" and "Everyone lies, everyone dies."
Casey needs someone to point out to her that her little hungry, jostling for power movesr will bring rather hefty consequences her way And that yeah, if the jury votes her guilty because of the lies of her involvement in the possible death and hiding the body of her daughter Caylee-then she probably will die--by lethal injection.Casey isn't smart enough to realize that she is laying the foundation for and predicting her own demise. Remember Casey, what goes around, comes around and what you give out you also get back,

Did Casey not tell her mother that Caylee WOULD be home for her 3rd birthday? So, where is she? And I VAGUELY remember Cindy stating something about how Casey would get the Mother of the Year Award when when Caylee returned on her birthday, AGAIN, where is she? Personally, I think Beaz is prompting Casey in her latest antics- like this new name of Jose, along with the parents. I believe taht Casey is feeding info to Baez and he is getting it to the parents...At this point, I STRONGLY believe that the parents know what Casey did to Caylee, or have a general idea; tried/trying to cover it up for her, and for whatever reasons their conscience is catching up with them and they are semi coming clean. HOWEVER, their twisted allegiance is with their daughter, who obviously rules the house with her odd behaviour...I do not believe the bit about the pool ladder, I DO believe that it, and other things they have given the police these past few days, is/are a detterent to by time for Baez to figure out how to make it look like an accident, hide the body AGAIN, etc...The whole safe-house bit is a joke! Baez's BIGGEST concern is how the hell he will resurrect his failing career when all is said and done, he will be the known as the idiot lawyer that protected that girl that killed her daughter in Florida. The names will be forgotten.I ALSO read an article, which I am gald is gone, where Beaz is comparing Caylee to Madeline McCann! I was SHOCKED that he would disgrace the McCanns' name like that; they would NEVER stoop to such "low-life" behaviour as the Anthony's have! NOR would the McCann's lawyer stoop to such levels, you can really tell that Casey just pulled him from a list of "cheap" attorneys while being booked...The levels of class and professionalism speak VOLUMES! The will not win or lead happy lives, EVER.

It is so sad that whatever happened to Caylee happened.
Her mother is a freak for letting things get as far as they did. If It was all honest, she would have been alright eventually. It obviously was not. Casey Anthony is a Liar,
Her family is naive. Blood is thick, but they need to accept that their daughter did bad things. They want the media to leave them alone. I believe their precious little daughter needs to fess up to to what she's done with Caylee, and let justice take over. Hopefully she acknowledges what she's done.
Maybe she's crazy. Stop the search, she is not alive. Her parents should be wearing shirts that say god please forgive Casey. Casey would not still be in jail if her daughter is safe.

Am I reading the date on this post as August 11th? I think your time might be off on your system, David.
Thanks for the update!

This is a sad,sad story. I think if all the media attention was taken off Casey and focused more on this two year old this case could go somewhere.
I saw on Nancy Grace that she has to watch media coverage and know what the media is saying about her (Casey). All she is doing is playing a cat and mouse game with family, law enforcement, and the public. She is a sick individual.
I think the family needs to stop accepting phone calls and cut off all visitation with this so called young lady.
I pray that she is so deprived of attention that this is a way of her getting the attention she needs using her daughter, and the baby is still alive, but I think that all the evidence is there that she is no longer alive.
My heart and prayers go out to the people that did care and love this little girl.

Ok, now Jose has advised Casey not to communicate with her family. Maybe new charges are being drawn up and it will be related to a homicide, therefore, he doesn't want ANYTHING released. Or, maybe she's trying to squeeze them to come up with the 50K, could they have collected that much in donations by now?

1. Would someone waterboard this witch already?
2. Casey said that Caylee would be home by her birthday. That hasn't happened. That's got to have some consequences inside of Casey's head. She probably created hope about the birthday for some reason. Some reason that only makes sense to her. But a reason that she really wants to explain. That need should be turned against her.

Both Casey Anothony and her mother are psychopaths. Although Casey is Cindy's daughter...how can she be dumb enough to believe anything that Casey is telling her? None of it adds up. Have you seen any of Cindy Anthony's interviews? She refers to Caylee as, "This child or Casey's daughter." Never does she refer to her as "My granddaughter or Caylee." They're both totally screwed up. I don't believe in torture, but a few good beatings could get the truth out of Casey.

It sure is funny how her dad is a former cop and her mom a nurse i'm sure with there experience they know the difference between rotting pizza smell and rotting human flesh.I think the grandmother said it perfectly what she thinks happen just by the 911 call admitting that saying it smells like a dead body in the damn car. Now shes backing up and changing her tune to save her daughters rear right now. You have to be crazy not to believe this little girl is dead all signs point to that assumption. And both the grandparents are fools believing this that the little girl is alive when she is in fact dead and the daughter is involved and knows where to recover the body or whats left of it anyways. This 22 yr old is never gonna tell because it will incriminate her unless she gets some kind of deal we will never know what happen with all the lies she has been telling. Law enforcement will have to find it on there own without the guidance of a lier. That way she can be put to death for what she has done. Killing someone is one thing but killing your own flesh and blood and a baby girl at that well that person doesn't deserve to breathe the same as air as everyone else. I will be waiting to see her escorted down death row to be executed and will be looking forward to it along with millions of other people.

I don't believe that Caylee has drowned. No, I think that selfish Caysey wanted to go party, couldn't find anyone to watch Caylee , so she put her in the trunk after she fell asleep thinking that Caylee would just sleep through the night and be safe. After which she sauntered off to party on the pole and had too much to drink and forgot about Caylee. She went to Tony's house, passed out and didn't wake up until the afternoon the following day and when she remembered where she put Caylee she probably went to the car and discovered her daughters lifeless body in the trunk. She probably panicked and kept her there a day or two until she could do away with the body.
This woman needs to be found out. She is pure evil.

In the beginning, when I seen on T.V, how the grandparents were still supporting there daughter, I thoguht maybe they were indirectly involved, or maybe knew what happneed, however, after continuing coverage of the case, I honsestly beleive that Cindy's parents are as much in the dark as the rest of us.Everyone reacts in a different way to tragedies, and who is to say how any of us woudl truly act, if we were in there shoes? Now as for Cindy the mother, she deserves to rot in prison forever, for her lies, and lack of cooperation.I truly beleive she knows that her daughter will never be home, but I pray to god I am wrong. The way she is denying visits, tells me that she cant face her parents now or her brother, because I think they are beginning to realize what we all beleive about there daughter. It would be tough to be the grandparents, that is there daughter, and there grandaughter. I would like to say I would not stand by my daughter if I were them, but I am not in there shoes. All I know, is that, we can all tell them how to act, but we have not walked in there shoes. One thing I thoguth of, is that when the Zeanida Gonzales came forward, I instantly thought, hmmm, maybe she has a friend who is using her name, and that is who Cindy Anthony thinks the womans name is, and it is someone else that Zenaida doesnt even realize they are going by her name???? I dont know, I rack my brain trying to figure it all out, but none of us know. I think maybe a miracle will happen and the DNA will not match that of lil Caylees.maybe she got mixed up in a bad crowd, someone was killed and put in her trunk, and it was not caylee, but that the person responsible has caylee??? I am speculating on every theory I can come up with, and I cannot coem up with any feasable answer as to what is happenning to make Cindy Anthony lie so much. However, I think the world needs to go easier on the grandparents and brother, until the police know soemthing we dont.Prayers for little Caylee.

No parent wants to belive that their child is capable of murder for goodness sake. The grandparent made poor choices probably becaus ethey wanted to belive thatthis poor child is alive. This is a nightmare for them. A nightmare fo rthe whole family. The mosther casey is a nutt but I just have to leave all fault there...

There is also something wrong with the grandparents of Caylee. Would'nt you think they would have the babysitters phone number seeing as both Casey and Caylee lived with them?
You know in case of an emergency and could't reach the "mom"
And where did the parents think their daughter was working the past two years. Wouldn't they also have her work number in case they had to reach her.
Breaks my heart to think of what happened to Caylee. I fear the "mom" killed her or sold her. Any mother in their right mind would be freaked not knowing where their child was immediately.
Posted by: Pam | August 11, 2008 at 02:28 AM
What about Shaken Baby Syndrome.
Caylee was still young enough that it would have dislodged her brain from her skull.
Posted by: Kimber | August 11, 2008 at 03:09 AM
I think I would rule out the drowning. I don't think there would be any blood loss in drowning so that possible blood stain in the trunk would not have been Caylee's if she had drowned. And I don't think it would have been another body fluid as that would probably have been left behind in the pool.

In regards to the comments of Cindy & George Anthony fully supporting their daughter and not facing up to what's really going on, I have a thought. These are intelligent people. They are educated people. Don't underestimate that. I believe they fully recognize what is going on. They also realize that Casey Anthony is sitting in jail listening to everything they tell the media. I believe Cindy realizes that her daughter is the one person that has the answers to the disappearance of their granddaughter and is trying to maintain communication with her, at all cost. If she were to go to the media and say anything about her that didn't show full support of her (or anything to that effect), then Casey would for sure not open up to her. Remember, she is a nurse. And with that comes some training on how to keep communication open, etc. I think Cindy and George Anthony are innocent and are having to "support" their daughter as a "means to an end". I'm sure they love Casey and I don't doubt for a minute that they believe Casey done something to Caylee.

I can not get Caylee off of my mind. This poor baby. If she did drown like they suspect I still don't understand why she would not have called 911. Did she leave the baby alone to party or something while the parents weren't home. Who knows this case is definately strange and I can not understand any of it. It's definatley one big tangled web of lies for sure.
Posted by: Kim | August 11, 2008 at 09:21 AM
So many things make absolutely no sense to me. It seems that normal/average parents would have wanted to pin down who the father of their grandchild was. They are so vague about who he might be. Wouldn't this have been a confrontation, in the past, about who got Casey pregnant?
I believe that someone mentioned that the name of the baby sitter (Zenaida) was passed around from up to a year before the disappearance. If she (Casey) was living with friends, or her parents, whomever, someone would have had to see this woman at least once. If her parents were the main care-givers for Caylee, and admit that their daughter has lied a lot in the past, knowing that she is a screw-up, they would have insisted on meeting this person to vet out if she was safe/responsible enough to care for their grand daughter. If this were the case, there should be a police sketch of this person by now, even if Casey wouldn't cooperate, One or more of the people that she resided with could have provided this.
If this name was passed around in the past that long before the disappearance, and this woman doesn't exist, where was she dropping off her kid? Was she setting up a scenario in advance? Or are the players rewriting history so that it better jibes with Casey's story?
I agree with the others, no one in the Anthony family has come out and made a plea for the kidnappers to return this child. That is beyond bizarre and quite telling.
You would normally have some hope that a kidnapper might have a tinge of conscience and return the child.
As to the pants being washed , DNA may remain, if she used ordinary laundry detergent. But that in itself really doesn't prove much, as Casey would likely have some DNA on her clothes from her own child; spitting up, or what have you. Unless it can be determined what the source of the DNA is. Also, if the Grandmother , Cindy, used bleach in the laundering process, and enough of it, it could potential destroy most/all of the DNA and render it unable to be tested to any degree of certainty.
I feel sorry for this family, but I also think that at some point, after the 911 call, they were made aware and resigned to the fact that Caylee was dead, so they began trying to
keep their loss to a minimum: Caylee only. Casey has likely been in trouble for a very long time, and the family dynamic is such that they have always pulled Casey out of taking responsibility for her actions. Much pathos, I suspect.

I can hardly believe this is even possible. Throw the witch in general population and let the other inmates beat the truth outof her. When this is all over, burn her at the stake. Lethal injection is to humane for her! Who pays for all the wasted man hours and tax dollars looking for this poor little angel? God bless you Caylee. May you rest in peace.

I have been following this case from the beginning.
It is driving me crazy. Maybe the investigators have more
information than they are releasing. One can only hope.
I really feel now like Caylee is dead due to the neglect of her mother. Her family has to feel this as well. They need
to stop the media circus and by some means just get Casey to
tell what happened.
Posted by: rhonda | August 11, 2008 at 10:18 AM
I think that Casey may have left her daughter with someone (she made up the Gonzales name) and she went out partying (we can all see that in the pictures). Something bad happened to Caylee when she went back to get her or after she picked her up (in other words she was dead or Casey killed her). She put her in the trunk and went back to her parents home while they were away. She borrowed the shovel from the neighbor and tried to bury her but then thought that someone may find out so she took Caylee to another location and burned her body (thus explaining the gas cans). She knows what has happened and is just postponing the inevidable. She is a self centered mentally unstable person who only cares about the attention she is getting. As for her parents. I think by now they know the truth (I don't think they did at first) but now they are trying to protect their daughter. I would almost bet that she has told her brother what is going on but the family is in a state of denial. I think they need to put Casey in the general population in prison and see that all that media attention will go away and she will start getting some REAL attention. She will probably start talking then just to get out and then she will plead insanity.
How can she go into that court room smiling and waving unless she knows where Caylee is or what has happened to her. Any mother (with a heart) would be crying non-stop and beggin people to look for her daughter.

Casey definitely killed Caylee. No doubt about it. And the forensics, sooner or later, are GOING to tell the story (the true one) that Casey herself refuses to tell.
R.I.P. Caylee.

How on earth do the grandparents, family and friends of Casey not know the babysitter?? Especially if she was used over a long period of time. This is the most disturbing part of this case in my opinion...with who and where has Casey been dropping off her daughter all this time??? It just doesn't add up...I haven't heard of anyone stepping up and saying they have watched Caylee for any period of time (besides the grandparents - and if they did how did they not know more about where she was at other times??!!)
Especially as a mother I pray that we're all wrong and that all the evidence we've seen is wrong and that these people care more about this little girl than themselves. People make mistakes, we all understand that but if this continues to move in the direction it's going we are way beyond mistakes...
Posted by: karen | August 11, 2008 at 12:14 PM
I agree that Cindy and George know their daughter and what they are doing with her. If Casey feels that she has no one that believes her and supports her then she will not tell she knows. As long as her parents offer some semilance of support there is the hope that she will talk. So I don't think it is so much to do ewhatever they feel is necessary to find Caylee. How hard itmust be for them to keep up this facade when inside they ant to yell that their daughter killed her baby and grab Casey by the throat and shake the truth out of her. Their worst nightmare is coming true. They just want Caylee home --whatever way that may be. EVERYONE knows that Casey holds the key. She has made many mistakes so far with her lies and everyone is waitng for that one huge, final mistake that she makes that will either give them evidence they need to charge and convict her accordingly and find Caylee and bring her home.
Posted by: Kimber | August 11, 2008 at 01:29 PM
I don't think the gas cans were used to dispose of a body. I think Casey stole the gas cans because her parents thought she was "away" on vacation - not nearby - and she didn't want to put gas on the credit card for some reason (maybe because the gas station's location would be on the statement).
I still can't imagine that there aren't drugs involved in this case - her family might not be saying anything (although we don't know what they're telling investigators) because they're ashamed and her friends might not be ratting her out because they could be incriminating themselves at the same time...

Casey we all hate you and you need to come clean with your lies I hope that you stay in prison until you die you are sick and twisted , I hope that the charge her with first degree murder and they wipe that smug look off your face. Gods speed Caylee.

I want to believe taht this child is alive and well, the grendparents are in denial, they know in the back of their heads their daughter has a lot to do with it but wont admit to it, It would be very hard to pick between your daughter and your grandchild, I think they know where this whole thing is going but they dont want to face it,How can a mother do this? what is wrong with her? how can you look at this little girls eyes and see anything else but love? she was a baby... I feel horrible because i am sure that a lot of people would adopt this little girl in a heartbeat. But her mother didnt even consider that as an option.I hope she didnt do it I hope she gave her away and she is found safe. and if Casey is guilty, I hope she gets what she deserves.

Casey was heard several times referring to the babysitter as "Zanny the nanny". I think Zanny was another term for Zanax. I think she routinely drugged little Caylee so she could go out and party. This time she OD poor Caylee. I'd be curious to know if any of the "An-phonies" have a Rx for this drug?

I think what is striking to me is all the speculation over this case. When it comes down to it, it seems to me that if Caylee is dead, then either Cindy or Casey could be responsible. In some ways, Cindy would make more sense. My understanding is that the last time anyone saw Caylee was with her grandparents when they visited her great-grandfather with her on June 15. Cindy was known to be controlling toward Casey. We know Casey got sick of it and moved out. Supposedly Caylee went with her, but did anyone see Caylee with Casey AFTER June 15? What if Casey was partying and stuff all the while thinking Caylee was with Cindy who refused to let Casey go? What if Caylee disappeared or something happened to her and each thought the other responsible? a mind game on the other? What if Casey did not know until Cindy caught up to her that Caylee was missing or dead. What if Cindy told Casey that she had to go along with this or not see her daughter again? Daddy was a cop; he would know what it would take and where to leave evidence. Did Cindy or Casey or someone else leave the car where it was found? Who stole the gas cans and why and where? What if she was given the story to tell, even though she knew it was "stupid"?
The problem that will face everyone involved in this is that the clothes that the cops found were at Cindy and George's - presumably not the ones with her this last month; the car is Cindy's for Casey's use; the yard is theirs; the pool is theirs; the "last" video is theirs; it is really hard to pin this on Casey conclusively. I mean, whatever happened to Caylee all we know is that Casey lied about things and that Casey left her daughter somewhere or with someone and something went wrong... that someone could have been a sitter or her mom (as she claimed to friends) or someone else entirely or no one.
We really cannot know.
We know that she acted irresponsibly toward Caylee. We know she lied. Those are likely to be all of her charges EVEN if they find the body. We don't know what she THOUGHT she was lying about or why. We likely won't know who.

I've been following this case since it started and it saddens me everyday. Just thinking of that little angel out there. Who knows where she might be. I hope I pray she is in good hands and is still alive. In the event that she is not alive cassey needs to come clean so her daughter can REST IN PEACE. Cassey has taken this case for a joke. Cassey needs to be charged and be given the death sentence. It doesnt matter what she did with the child. Sold her, Killed her, whatever it maybe she neglected her daughter and for someone to be so cruel to an innocent child she needs to suffer. That poor child was two when she suffered whatever her mother put her through. If she didnt have the patience to deal with her daughter why didnt she just give her daughter up to someone who will care and love her. Cassey has a sick mind. Not once have we seen her cry or have any sad feelings about her daughter being missing. AND WHO THE HECK WAITS 5 WEEKS BEFORE U REPORT UR CHILD MISSING? How dumb is that?....................... this case is driving me crazy. I WISH THEY WOULD JUST FIND THIS LITTLE GIRL AND BRING HER HOME SAFE. If she has died let the little angel rest in peace. For cindy to say that she will give cassey THE MOTHER OF THE YEAR AWARD.... are u kidding me? mother of the year.. she meant to say MURDERER OF THE YEAR!.............. I think that cindy is tryin to be a funny grandmother. to think that her daughter deserves mother of the year.

I believe Casey has lied and lied to cover her lies. She has backed herself into a corner and to tell the truth is to admit she lied and did something bad. I wonder if all the publisity died down, if she would be more likely to tell the truth. But that means to lesson the hope of finding Caylee alive.
I am really upset and angered about all this. It hurts to think of this baby being dead and by her mothers hands. I feel Casey's parents are also victoms in this too. You can see their pain. They do follow what Casey tells them to do but, Casey is their only link to finding out where Caylee is. Imagine their hurt. They, most likely, have lost their grand daughter and their daughter.

I just pray that she hasn't been sold to a pedophile gang. Or, perhaps to someone else for a "loan" to buy drugs or something with the thought of returning Caylee when the debt is repaid.
Please, God, return this beautiful child safely to someone who will truly care for her. Amen.

Casey didn't have a job, right? Yet she was telling her parents that she did.
If this is so, she didn't really need a baby sitter and just made one up. I wonder where Casey was going when she was had her alleged job.
Another poster made a brilliant point: Casey could give a sketch artist a description of her "baby sitter" so they could search for the "correct" Zenaida - which we all know is a figment of Casey's imagination. Wonder if they've asked her that.

I personally think that Caylee is gone.If her mother and family thought this child was in trouble they would not have the news media all over this case to find her.I also would think there is someone else involved with getting rid of the evidence,I could be wrong as Casey seems to be holding her own with all the lies.I remember her brother saying the past few months she had hurt the family with her behavior.I don't think Cindy or George want to think their daughter could have done such a terrible act.I almost feel like there was a power struggle between mother and daughter. If and when they find Caylee it will be a bitter end for these two as parents.I think Cindy knows in her heart but until they find proof all she has to keep going is that Caylee is alive.

I don't know the Anthony's, never met em.. but something real bad has to have happended to this darling little angel. The mom(Casy) I believe, like someone else had mentioned; probably wanted another nite out to go whore around and do her dope and whatever, forgot about Caylee, most likely left her sleepin in veh. Makes sense to me wiith the smell that was found in veh. She is a selfish, unfit and rotten excuse for a human being. Burn Casey for what you have done to your daughter. She is watching your every move.

I watch Nancy Grace as often as I can to catch updates and it just makes my blood boil whenever they show clips of Casey practically smiling and when they show audio clips of her on the phone to her family/whoever and her answers are so vague. she always just says"umm..." she never can give any real details or answers to things...hopefully she is running out of LIES! I know her family wants to stay on her side and not think the worst of her, but I'm sure they have to be getting fed up with all her lies and now refusals to see them...I really pray they get to the bottom of this!

well if it looks like a duck, swims like a duck and sounds like a duck, pretty good chance it is a duck.
Same as the holloway story, it turned out to be (most probably) the most logical thing.
As long as there is no body, there is no case.

I have been following this case from the start I believe with all my heart and soul that Casey did something to Caylee whether Cindy wants to admit it or not..I think the Anthonys are taking a real strange approach to this whole investigation....as a matter of fact. the whole family acts strange to me.. I certainly hope there is more evidence than is being exposed to the public..Someone needs to give Miss Casey a lesson in telling the truth!!!!!

Now as for 'Casey' the mother, she deserves to rot in prison forever, for her lies, and lack of cooperation.I truly beleive she knows that her daughter will I would like to say I would not stand by when the Zeanida Gonzales came forward, I instantly thought, hmmm, maybe she has a friend who is using her name, and that is who Casey Anthony thinks the womans name is, and it is someone else that Zenaida doesnt even realize they are going by her name?
Wow Jamie, I never thought of that. Get the sniffing dogs over to the apartments like I have said all along and see if she was not secretly living out of the apartment that has been (vacant?) for (5 MO?) no apartment is vacant for 5 months! That in itself is fishy. Maybe the 2 office girls know more than they are saying. Get the dogs over there and see if they can smell Caylee in the apartment. Maybe someone was using Zen's name! How would Casey know that?

Manille's comment about "Zanny the Nanny" makes perfect sense! I can totally see how that might be used as a code for Xanax. And the whole scenerio of poor Caylee asleep in the trunk and forgotten by her partying mommy...so sad, but totally possible.
Where was Casey taking Caylee all this time that she was supposed to be at work? Did Caylee ever speak of the nanny to anyone? Did anyone ever talk to Caylee about what she does at the babysitters house while Mommy is "working"? Did Caylee talk about playing with other children at the nanny's house? And who is the lady that walks behind Caylee in the video where she's sitting at the table and reading a book? I haven't heard anyone asking these questions to the family.

Now the family has hired a psychic? What up with that? The whole family must be nuts or desperate.

I don't want to think of the bad things that might of happened to Caylee, but so far there's nothing coming out good. I have a daughter, and I would never dream of hurting my own child. For all of those sick stories out there of parents killing and hurting THEIR own children, they should burn!!! Wherever Caylee is, god is watching over her.Casey needs to go to burn along with the rest of the sick and crazy people in this world. She has no right to call herself a mom noneless to be one. God gave her Caylee to bring her in this world, not to take her out!I pray that Caylee is okay and not harmed in any kind of way. If anything has happened to her, I hope Casey suffers for the rest of her life!!!

The sad truth is Caylee did not return on her birthday like her mother said she would. That could have been wishful thinking or keeping the wolves at bay so to speak. We all wish sweet innocent Caylee was safe and sound wherever she is. The grandparents both quoted Casey saying “she knows where her daughter is and knows that she is safe.” I wonder if Casey is talking about heaven, just so that there is some truth to it in her web of lies in her psychotic thinking. If police and investigators truly believe someone did take Caylee, where are the amber alerts? Why hasn’t there been a sketch of this mysterious babysitter? Why hasn’t anybody seen her? There has to be a reason for why the police have not sent out alerts. I too have come up with a scenario as to what might have happened to Caylee. It could have been an accident. Even if it was an accident, any normal person would be overwhelmed with grief and would not be partying a few days after that. It could have been intentional, if so that would explain her having a good time at the hot body contest. All that seems evident is that the last person Caylee was known to have been with is telling a lot of lies and wants immunity in exchange for her cooperation. This case is very much like the one in Aruba. (I.e. Lie after lie after lie and NO body. Therefore no conviction?). If there is any truth to the “Zanny the nanny” theory, her hair follicle will tell if there were any drugs in the baby’s body. Most recently the psychics have been called in. I truly hope that they do help in locating Caylee. I too feel like the grandparents are trying to stay strong and being supportive for their daughter because they don’t want to lose two daughters and they want the truth out of her as to what happened to Caylee, so they’re keeping communication open with her as much as possible. She could very well be so manipulative that THAT is the only way to have control over her family from behind bars is by deciding not to have them as visitors anymore. The images of her dancing the night away after she knew her daughter went missing just blows me away. The other thing that Cindy said in her 911 call is that she found her daughter (Casey) something like ‘My daughter was missing and I just found her, and my grand daughter is missing.... etc. etc. She’s been gone 31 days ... ” Maybe its just my way of dealing with emergencies but I would not have had the frame of mind to count out the days. The difference between Cindy’s and Casey’s voice on the 911 calls are like night and day. The mother shows no signs of worry but the grandmother is frantic with worry. I truly feel for the family and I’m still holding out hope that Caylee is safe and sound. The family is in dire need of a spokesperson to deal with the media so they can deal with this tragedy.

I have watched this story sence it began, and i never heard a case quite like this one.I dont believe this has been going on this long and i cant believe no one has been able to get Casey to break. She knows well what happened to Caylee and she is telling one story after another to keep this story going. This whole story is discusting.I do not think little Caylee is alive.Something bad had happened during the month she was gone and she waited a month to even tell her mother her child was missing,i believe to cover the little girls murder up.MAKING IT EASIER NOT TO BE ABLE TO TELL CAUSE OF DEATH if HER BODY WAS FOUND..She is a sick twisted young women, with no shame or concience..God bless this beautiful child.

I agree with what Kimber said regarding the gas cans.
A person with average intelligence would know that when dealing with a liar, there's always a bit of truth hidden in their words.
Casey mentioned in one of her conversations that this (babysitter) could possibly be found in North Carolina. Could it be possible that NC is where she took the child's body?
Also, reading the transcripts from the jail sheds a different light on things. The small bit we are seeing on the news doesn't show the entire conversation of her brother Lee in his first call. He is trying to get information from Casey and telling Casey he's not playing games with her. Now, the last conversation (from beginning to end)you can clearly see that he is warning her and it is very confusing to follow.
I believe that the family has already been told that Casey won't be seeing them anymore and everything will be going through Baez. That these refusals of visits are a show.
I can only hope that the Anthony's are trying to make their daughter feel as if they are in her corner but at this point, I'm not sure about them anymore. I do believe they didn't know what happened to Caylee when this story first broke. I'm not so sure they don't know at this time though.
Also, in the transcript that I mentioned, Casey is telling Lee how Baez is going to bring her videos to watch and she speculates it's about what's on the news. She then adds that he wants her to have a good laugh.
"Casey: Just to try to update me on stuff. Plus, he wanted me to get a good laugh, so."

A GOOD LAUGH???
If she wants a laugh, I can think of many people who would love to slap her silly!
I would be mortified if I were her. Does this woman/child -whatever, have any respect for her daughter?
Lastly, I am a mother and a grandmother and if I were in the Anthony's shoes, I would be doing everything I could to get my daughter to tell me where my grandchild was. At this point I would be using the media to get the message to her (if she refused my visits) and it's not being done. Also, why can't Cindy Anthony look into the camera when speaking? Her head is always down. And now, the only time you hear passion is when she's hollering at the media. Where's her passion plea for that precious baby?

I have a question, if anyone knows the answer . where did Caylee spend her second birthday?. and what is the reasoning that she would be home for her third birthday? Cayce seems to talk in circles , remember in every lie look for a grain of truth.

Did her psychological tests come back? What was the outcome? I think she did something to that poor child. She went out and partied and posed for photos to show that she didn't do anything wrong, because a person just wouldn't behave that way if they were guilty of something. She was planning her alibi.

I just hope that law enforcement does a toxicology screen on the hair they found in Casey's trunk. Traces of any drugs given Caylee would be detectable in the hair shaft, and would even show at what intervals she was drugged. Google the word "Zannie," (as in I'm taking Caylee to Zannie), and you will see it is a common term for Xanax. Casey may have been sedating Caylee and leaving her in the car for years.
