Casey Anthony Drops Selfish Act and Provides Vital Details About Daughter's Whereabouts
August 25, 2008
Or, at least, that is what Casey Anthony's family would like us to believe. Unfortunately, it is a fantasy that is not grounded in reality. Here we are, nearly a week since her release from jail, and we have yet to see Anthony step up to the plate and take the lead in a single search for her missing 3-year-old daughter, Caylee Anthony.
Casey Is As Casey Does
Instead, Casey Anthony remains too self-absorbed to care about anyone, let alone her own flesh and blood. No, her first priority - her only priority - upon her release, was herself. The first thing she asked for, according to bounty hunter Leonard Padilla, was a hot shower. Apparently, Caylee's fate was not as important as Casey's desire to feel fresh.
And what of Padilla? Is he a sucker or does he have his own agenda? If you recall, last week, Padilla told us that he would get to the bottom of Caylee's disappearance in less than a week. However, he has since changed his tune, claiming that Anthony's attorney, Jose Baez, won't let him talk to Anthony. I'm curious: Did Baez lead Padilla to think he would have a shot at her, and then back out after her release, or is Padilla involved only to further his own career and promote his new TV show?
Me...Me...Me...Dancing With the Devil
What I find even more twisted is that Anthony has been meeting with her attorney to, according to sources close to the investigation, "discuss her defense." That's right; she is allegedly meeting with her attorney to discuss her own defense. What a joke. So much for the promise that she would get down and dirty in the hunt for her daughter. In reality, I bet Anthony would much rather forget this entire ordeal happened. Then, she could get down and dirty on the dance floor, as she did in the weeks following Caylee's disappearance.
Oh, but wait. Now, Baez and the Anthony family's spokesperson, Larry Garrison, are saying that Anthony has provided them with information that backs up her initial kidnapping statements. Interesting. However, the detectives investigating the case say they have not heard from Anthony or her attorney since her release. So then, what are they doing with this "information?" Squirreling it away for trial? That's what is important, right – keeping Casey Anthony out of jail.
Do As I Say - Not As I Do
Meanwhile, we have Cindy Anthony, the ever camera-loving family cheerleader, releasing a statement this weekend about the media's coverage of the case. That statement read, in part: "All you want is your next picture. I refuse to see you cast aside the search for Caylee."
You're absolutely right, Cindy. We do want our next picture. We want to see a photo of Caylee showing her safe and happy. That's what we want! Speaking for myself, I don't think I can stand to look at another photo of Casey's smug face.
Play a Violin for that Gal
It's also interesting how she mentions the media casting aside the search for Caylee. Come on, Cindy, isn't that a speech you should be giving your daughter? Perhaps people would be more inclined to be sympathetic if she would make a single effort to find Caylee.
A Day Late and...
The Anthony family has now threatened to "blacklist" any media organizations that don't play by their rules. What a joke. Blacklist them from what? The Anthony's haven't provided a single relevant bit of information to the media since day one. Instead, we've gotten a lot of empty promises, which have now been followed by empty threats.
Triple Dog Dare
Do you seriously want people to leave you alone, Casey? If so, then start talking! Let's hear what you have to say for yourself. Your family has my number and my e-mail. I'm all ears.

So What are the vital details???

Caylee is dead. I hate to say it, but I'm afraid it's going to end up just like the Susan Smith story. All of these feigned histrionics are making me sick. And I suppose when the forensics come back showing that Caylee's body had been in the trunk of that car, the babysitter will have been responsible for that too.
Stop adding insult to injury ... confess to what you have done. If you think America hated you before, wait until the real truth comes out.

I don't understand , if Casey is not going to give up some information about leaving Caylee with this"so called babysitter"then she is not doing anything to help find Caylee there for she needs to go back to jail and sit until she is ready to talk

Casey Anthony really makes me question my stance on police interviewing methods. By the way, I really enjoyed your radio interview.
Farewell, I must go show someone to my office.

The best thing all the media outlets could do is to refer to Casey as Caylee's mom. Caylee's mom is just sitting back and enjoying the attention. Like..Caylee's mom is inside Caylee's grandmother house. Also, someone should tell the bounty hunter that the "little girl" or "baby" as he refers to Caylee...please let him know her name...it's CAYLEE!!!! I don't even think he knows her name?
Afterthought...why does the bounty hunter always say return Caylee to a drug store? Does that mean something? I would think the logical thing to say is a church, hospital, safe haven...but a drug store?
May God Bless Caylee...

Has anyone noticed that on the film of Caylee on Father's Day at her grandmother's house, her hair appears to be gone on both sides on top.She pulls at her ponytail, which may be too tight and can cause hair to be gone. I was just wondering if anyone else noticed this. Something is so wrong here. When Casey told her attorney and he made a big out of her statement..like it was a grand gesture???' I am innocent and going to hold my head up high'......One would think that her first thoughts would be to find her baby and that would have been her statement to her attorney. Surely now that Casey is out, she will tell what happened to precious Caylee. Caylee needs to come home!
The 26th of August marks the 13 yr anniversary of my precious Heather's abduction. My heart is very sad today. Please pray for Caylee and for Heather..and for all the other missing people to come home where they belong. Matthew 10:26!! Praying and believing in a miracle. Someone knows where Caylee is. Someone knows where Heather is. Someone knows where every missing person is. And..it will take a miracle for them to tell, won't it?

Padilla will have about just enough of Casey and her family and will pack up and go home after escorting her back to jail. I don't really care why Padilla is in it so long as Caylee is found or he can get to the bottom of her disappearance. I believe Cindy is play-acting the protective mother part and wants everyone to scram as she knows that worse is coming for her daughter. May the media not let up.

I HAVE TO AGREE WITH PATRICIA. IF SHE TRULY DID NOT KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO HER LITTLE GIRL, SHE WOULD NOT BE SO CONCERNED ABOUT HER DEFENSE. WHAT WOULD SHE NEED TO DEFEND HERSELF FOR??? SHE WOULD HE HUNTING FOR HER WITH EVERY FIBER OF HER SELF. SHE KNOWS AND THE SWEET CHILD IS EITHER DEAD OR SHE SOLD HER. IN EITHER CASE CASEY IS RESPONDSIBLE.

There were 2 pizza's delivered that day, both were pranks & were refused.
the DNA evidence the cops were so proud of didn't amount to anything.

This whole case makes me sick. Has Casey had a comprehensive psychological evaluation yet? I know that the results of such would not be published do to legalities, but has it been done? If she did harm her own child, she would have an obvious psychological conditon that would greatly contribute to her capacity to commit such a crime. I can only hope this isn't another Susan Smith case, but what else could it be? Then I have to ask why the updates from law enforcement have simmered down to practically nothing. Who is still working on this case? Is anyone really whole-heartedly trying to solve this? Have they given up? As for Casey, hope begins where the secrets end. Although we fear the worst, I know all if us are hoping to see Caylee safe and alive. I think we all deserve that hope. Casey on the other hand is keeping it from us. She knows. There is no denying that she knows. There must be something that can be done. Justice will happen one way or another. I agree with my husband. Put Casey in a women's prison for a few days and call off the guards. Even criminals have morals.

I think it is unfair to judge anyone until proven guilty. Anything could of happened to that little girl or Casey herself. It is a messed up world we live in, we all know that! But at the end of the day fingers should not be pointed until the women is proven guilty if the facts come out that something tragic did happen to her daughter.
I have compassion for the entire Anthony family and what they must be going through right now. I know if I had a missing grandchild as well as a daughter in over head and not talking the last thing I would want is to hear from the media or have them stalking me every minute of the day.
Remember the word passion people.

well said!!! You took the words RIGHT OUT OF MY MOUTH!!! And I second your comment about seeing another picture of Casey's SMUG FACE!!! The next picture I want to see of her, is her handcuffed, being DRAGGED to prison for the rest of her life. That will be justice!!! WE all know how prisoners feel about fellow prisoners that have done something to a child!! What goes around, comes around and Casey has alot coming to her!

what i find funny about the spokesperson is that he is making these statements from california. he is not in florida so how does he know what the anthonys are doing. oh from cindy? theres a reliable source. i seriously think the media should turn their back on all of them for awhile. camp out in front of the house but do not release anything they get from the family sya like on the news caylee anthony still missing and then go to another story. why let those anthonys call the shots for the media? heck with them start looking into a lost child cold case for awhile. it will really anger the family.

I don't think she ate the pizza. the pizza was sent to her house by a blogger. The note read "With Love and Decomp". Pretty sick if she ate that pizza!

Excellent point to this entry David. I agree 100 percent with your comments & personally never have been in this situation [thankfully] I would be showing my mug all over the media circuits trying to find out what happened to my child. Take ever precaution needed to find my child. Explain truthfully & with detail as to what I was doing that day when my child went missing. Personally, After her now EX boyfriends roommate had that interview with Ms. Greta V and how she acted "normal" during the supposed time of her disappearance, sealed the deal in my mind.. that:
a] this mom is irresponsible or
b] Caylee Anthony has passed :[
Tragic.. so very Tragic.

More Casey digressions from the truth:
Denied until her 7th month that she was even pregnant. Nurse-mom believed her denials and even stood up for her despite the obvious truth.
Stole money from grandfather's bank account and Cindy had to pony up the money from her 401-K.
Definitely a genetic defect in the brew that keeps one lying and the other believing.

I have several concerns about this case. I do believe that Caylee has perished perhaps by accidental means or on purpose by the hands of her mother, but Casey is going to cover herself no matter what. Like she stated a while back that Caylee was in danger by the person or persons who have her if she would have contacted the police, etc; well I believe that she stated this due to the fact if Caylee's body is found then she can blame it on the kidnapper(s) and take the focus off of her.
Also, have the police checked what she purchased with her parents' credit card? If there is possibly a plastic container purchased like the one that they found in Galveston with the body of Baby Grace in. Casey may have put Caylee's body in this and weighed it down, placed it in the ocean or in a river or other body water.
She needs to have a major talking too by her parents, especially her father since he is a retired policeman and he knows all the ins and outs of investigating crimes or he should anyway. She needed to have her bottom spanked years ago. Casey is a spoiled brat who has gotten her way all of her life and she figures she can still get her way now and fess up to what has actually happened to Caylee.
Posted by: Linda Piatkowski | August 24, 2008 at 08:19 PM
One con artist hoodwinks the other: Oh, I believe Baez lead Padilla to believe he (Padilla) would have all access to Casey. No one else could or was bonding out Casey. As a lawyer, Baez was doing what was in the best interest of his client, Casey, Not Caylee.
I do believe Padilla wants to find Caylee, but his lust for the publicity is probably greater.

Dear David,
Thank you for providing this forum.. Yes, most of us agree, Casey Anthony, now out of jail, is doing little to help locate her daughter, and that's very telling, but so are the initial lies she told investigators. It simply isn't reasonable to consider Casey's current story that Caylee was kidnapped. Casey may not be tried for murder,( I think it was accidental ), but she will go to prison, even if she is only charged with neglect. Everyone hates her. She's certainly going down.
Posted by: Karen | August 24, 2008 at 08:49 PM
evidence clearly shows something bad happened to Caylee. The gas cans, abandoned car, lying, stealing, partying when you have a precious young one to care for- when I was her age my daughter was 2 and I was a single mom- I would never ever do that to my daughter. I loved her too much. I will be surprised if someone kidnapped her- cant believe it- but the things that gets me is the DNA evidence taking so long and if they knew something why is she free on bond? Unless they are waiting to wrack all the evidence up becuase they have no body- maybe we will see a trail and maybe see Casey go to prinson OR get the DEATH Penalty. If she did something or knows Caylee is no longer with us- she should have told the truth and it would have helped her.
God Bless Caylee and Heather- Im sorry to hear about your daughter.

What happened to innocent until proven guilty? Casey has been slandered by the media since this story aired. I understand why (with her lies to police and all the "evidence" seized that we still don't know about), but she hasn't been charged with murder in any degree.
Police would not have released her if they had actual evidence against her. You know this and I know this. I don't care if ousted Dog the Bounty Hunter came to her aide, it's not about high profile bail bondsmen.
I hope you don't eat your words on Caylee's case, because I enjoy reading your work. You may have more information in your hands than has been released to the general public ~ if you know something, quit taunting us and just spill it (I know I know, priviledged information).
Let's keep hoping Caylee comes home safe!

All we want is Caylee back. Can you handle that, Casey? Or maybe that annoys you. It seemed to annoy you a few weeks ago.
Casey, are you sticking to the Zenaida Gonzalez story or should we be looking for someone else now? If you could please tell us who we should be looking for, that would be a big help. Thanks.

Was caylee an incest baby or something ?? Why is the whole family acting like there is a big secret to hide ?? why do they all cover up for casey ?

Casey should have never been given bond. If I were her mother I would have insisted that they keep her butt locked up until she rotted to death or gave up good information.

In the 3rd 911 call (which I googled) Mrs. (Cindy) is heard saying to her husband (like he had just arrived home).....
Cindy: um. 8. 8-9, 2000. Oh god she's 3. She’s 2005. George, Caylee's missing.
George: what?
Cindy: Caylee's missing. Casey says (Zenaida) took her a month ago. (inaudible).
Dispatch: okay. I need. um. I understand. Can you. Can you just calm down for me for just a minute. I need to know what's going on. Okay. I’m gonna try and...
Cindy: (inaudible)
Dispatch: is your, is your daughter there?
Cindy: I’m on the phone with them.
Dispatch: is your daughter there?
Cindy: yes.
Dispatch: can I speak with her? Do you mind if I speak with her? Thank you.
Cindy: I called them two hours ago and they haven't gotten here. Casey finally admitted that (Zenaida) took her a month ago and has been trying to find her.
CINDY IS REFERING TO HER LIKE they KNOW Zenada
ALSO....WHERE WERE THE PARENTS WHEN CASEY MADE ALL THOSE CALLS TO THEM? Maybe the grandparents were watching Caylee that day and something happened and they are covering it up and making Casey "unknowingly" take the fall. or maybe they all know. I am praying that she gave her daughter to someone and things have just gone wrong and she is affraid to be into trouble.

I'm sure we all want little Caylee to be found safe and sound and hopefully that will be the outcome. But I am so tired of hearing from this family! It seems that it is just one lie after another. Have they not ever heard the story about the boy who cried wolf??? I am amazed that any of them have been able to hold down jobs when they can't manage to distinguish between a lie and the truth. I am beginning to wonder if George found out after the fact and helped Casey cover her trail. It seems that George and Cindy just aren't as concerned as they were in the beginning. And what ever happened with the new patio in the backyard???? I think the media should stop interviewing the family but just watch them instead. I only want to hear what the police have to say!!
Posted by: Andra | August 24, 2008 at 10:28 PM
my grandaughter also turned three this august. I can't imagine geing able to talk to the press or anyone like cindy anthony has done. It seemed, in the beginning that she liked the attention. I love my little grandaughter so much, I don't think I could focus on anything but seeing that precious little face again. If my daughter would not cooperate with the investigation, she would be on her own, I don't think I could be supportive of her behavior.

casey's been out since thursday. it's only sunday. it has not been nearly a week.
just letting you know, because your 'reporting' might not be taken very seriously after an opening statement that is clearly wrong.

David,
Once again, great post. Padilla has further enabled Casey by bailing her out for one on one time with Baez to prep her defense . . . not to find Caylee. The family is desperately spinning the kidnapped story and their unequivocal belief that Caylle is alive yet provides not one bit of evidence. They want the public and media to look for Caylee while their daughter is out on bail preparing for her defense and taking hot showers. Casey was supposted to talk to the FBI while she was in prison since she didn't trust the PD. Whatever became of that?
When will this story turn the chapter and start siding with Caylee?
Posted by: skylonda | August 24, 2008 at 10:43 PM
I really agree with your comment about Casey's smug face. Her behavior makes a case for waterboarding, doesn't it? If you discount all other information, how do you dismiss the fact that this Casey woman was partying, flashing gang signs, and being a party girl while her tot was missing? What must her parents think when they see those photos? Oh, yeah, those enablers said those photos were taken before she had Caylee.
Posted by: DJGirl | August 24, 2008 at 10:50 PM
I've known since the beginning that little Caylee is gone. Casey knows that Caylee's gone which is why she shows no inclination nor concern about her daughter's whereabouts.
Due to the fact that Casey's divulged nothing regarding her daughter's disappearance and the fact that neither her parents nor her attorney are putting much effort into finding out the truth, she'll never talk and won't ever be charged and will get off scot free.
It's sad but true.
Posted by: Scout | August 24, 2008 at 10:54 PM
Casey didn't even attend a vigil for Caylee.
Which was held in her parents' driveway. With her electronic bracelet (for house arrest) couldn't she step outside the front door?
Posted by: justme | August 25, 2008 at 12:18 AM
>>the DNA evidence the cops were so proud of didn't amount to anything.
DNA evidence needs to be carefully handled in this case, and unless you are the one processing the evidence, I don't think you have any insider information. DNA will not tell you if someone is alive or dead. A fluid it is present in could help make that determination - such as a large quantitity of lost blood indicating a wound unlikely to be survived, or maybe even decompositional chemicals such as putrescine and cadaverine. DNA can be helpful in placing someone in a location that could indicate they were somewhere they should not be - such as the trunk of a car in this case. However, I think the investigators could possibly be playing it safe, because you have to be ready to prove that the DNA found in the trunk came from a body and was not transferred into the trunk from clothing or some other perfectly ordinary explanation. Sure, because there isn't yet an arrest could mean that the initial evidence from cadaver dogs is not supported and Caylee is alive, but there could also be additional chemical analyses that are wanted before an arrest is made.
Finding DNA is not always going to answer questions - it may just create more, and those answers have to be figured out also.
I take issue with "Tommy"'s comment because I didn't see the police celebrating at all about DNA evidence possibilities. Any investigator experienced in forensics knows how the defense will argue a case, and know that all avenues must be explored, especially when you don't even have a body.
Casey is innocent until proven guilty in the judicial system. That doesn't mean that public opinion can't go against her for seeming to be putting herself first. I'm not a mother, but I think if this were me, I would not care about going to jail for child neglect or anything else as long as I got my kid home alive. Unless I, for some reason, already knew there was no chance of that happening and had to hide that fact.
Posted by: Marya | August 25, 2008 at 12:55 AM
I pray for Caylee every day, in reference to the dream that I had, the truth is in the box.
This verse is for Casey: "Therefore whatsoever you have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light and that which you have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops".
translation: what ever you do in darkness, you will be found out and the truth shall prevail.
I petition those that believe to ask for that sweet precious child to be found, my heart is so heavy with grief.

I've been following this from the beginning and there's only one thing we need to know that shows Casey was involved in this girl's disappearance, a totally apathetic attitude towards her missing daughter. Waiting a month to report, partying the nights away, casual conversations with law enforcement, and now talking to lawyers about HER defense!
I don't think she's going to get away with this at all. I suspect the police have plenty of evidence already and as soon as they organize it properly they'll have this woman NAILED!

The attention this awful, vile human being is getting is horriffic. The media was not nearly rough enough with her when she was being released. Had I been there, I would have had buckets of pig blood and I would have drowned her in it.
That precious little girl could have made so many good people happy, so many worthy and dedicated people who try everyday to have a child...
Posted by: Jane | August 25, 2008 at 01:45 AM
I think the media SHOULD stop showing, telling, relaying info on the Anthonys. They would talk then...All parties involved depend HEAVILY on that for fame, at the cost of a child. True low-lifes, including Baez, of our country, they are a disgrace.
If Casey pulled a Duckett, as Cindy seems she may do, we would only care for a few seconds because she could not say where Caylee is buried, however, we would put closure on it, and think, "Who Cares, Its Finally Done." We are not as lucky, yet...

When I see Casey all I see is another Norman Bates....This makes me sick to think what she might of done to her own daugher. I'm sick of seeing her face also....I'm hoping the DNA results will be made public. I pray this isn't another Susan Smith case.

This is what Casey Anthony and to a lesser extent her family have been giving us through interviews and other media outlets and tapes:
1)Caylee is a victim of kidnapping and based on Casey's comments is in danger and therefore this danger to her daughter is preventing her from giving more information.
2) Caylee is "safe" and Casey feels she is "close" and she knows who has her (hello? If she's safe how can she be in danger?)
3) Once Casey feels safe and with her family she will then divulge the info that she has kept for the police (Ok. You got your wish Casey the world is waiting...)

Has anyone noticed how in all but one of the photos shown of Casey with Caylee,,, Caysee is totally engauged/focused on the camerea.. (strike a pose??)..
Caylee is nothing more to Casey than a prop for a good photo... She(Casey) is totally unaware or even trying to engage with Caylee... It's all about "looking good for the camera".. Casey might as well be holding the family pet, as her daughter,, She probably has shown more love to the family dog as she has shown her "beloved" daughter,,,
All the people in the world who would give their life to be so blessed with such a beautiful child... And here she is not having the time or desire to give Caylee so much as a second thought...
Casey,, all about "ME ME ME"... Well.. YOU YOU YOU had better get ready to play with the big dogs in the real prison.. May she get all she deserves,, and then some!!!!
There's a name for people like Casey,, but this being a respectful forum ,, I will decline to say it here..
Thanks for the continued coverage,,,
My thoughts and prayers are with and for this poor little child...
God bless..

I WISH THIS FAMILY WOULD LET US ALL KNOW WHERE CAYLEE IS SO WE CAN ALL GO ON. I KNOW I'M CONSTANTLY THINKING OF THIS LITTLE GIRL AND ESPECIALLY WHEN SHE IS PULLING AT HER PONYTAIL. I JUST WANT TO REACH IN AND TAKE THAT RUBBERBAND OUT OF HER HAIR AND RUB HER LITTLE HEAD. SHE ALSO LOOKS LIKE SHE IS HAVING A GOOD TIME AND SAYING "NO WAY" ALSO ,CASEY KEPT SAYING SHE KNEW WHO HAD CAYLEE AND SHE WAS CLOSE TO HOME AND SHE WAS OK, WELL CASEY ,GO GET HER

My little dog was missing for 15 minutes the other day and I had the street blocked off and all of the neighbours on alert within 4 minutes. Turned out she was in bed. I could only imagine my hysteria and the efforts to locate, if it was my child. Casey should be ashamed, humiliated, embarassed, distraught, frantic, etc. I fail to see any of the above displayed. She is disconnected from the search as she knows how it will end. I fear the worse for precious Caylee. Lee, Cindy and George, it is time to make Casey responsible.
Posted by: AK | August 25, 2008 at 09:05 AM
I've starting to think that the whole family is involved in this cover up. Could it be that Caylee died and Grandma and Grandpa deceided to help Casey? I know that if this was my Grandchild missing and my daughter refused to give the police detailed information but instead told lie after lie I won't want her in my house let alone defend her the way they are.

I think Caylee is a product of incest with Casey and Lee and that's why Casey gave her that name (Casey/Lee=Caylee). I think that's why Casey and Lee were being so careful in their conversations that were recorded at the jail. I think Cindy and George know what happened and they are covering up.

Casey had thirty-something days in jail to concoct more lies. I don't know what to think anymore. Whether Caylee was kidnapped or the poor baby is no longer with us, Casey's behavior is bizarre and of course leads us to believe she did something to her own daughter. Maybe they shouldn't have arrested her right away and just watched her for a while. She clammed up in jail and I doubt she will ever tell the truth. She's twisted and sick. They may never find out what really happened to Caylee. If she is alive, and I pray she is, I also pray they will never return her to this crazy family. Cindy and George are so strange, stupid and naive. However, they know how to work a camera. I know I would never have been able to face the cameras the way they did in the beginning. I would have been too distraught.
God Bless Caylee :)

Has anyone mentioned or wondered why Casey left her car with her PURSE in the front seat in that parking lot?
I believe the reason why she did this was because she knows that car is loaded was damaging evidence against her. I believe she left her purse in the front seat to entice someone to open that door get her purse and steal that car. Then almost all of the evidence would of been contaminated. But thank the Lord the car nor her purse were stolen.
She wanted her car, purse and phones all to disappear. We don't know where the phones are, but we do know where the car is!
And where is that baby carseat?
