Breaking News: Casey Anthony Freed From Jail
August 21, 2008
Casey Anthony, mother of missing two-year-old Caylee Anthony, walked out of the Orange County jail at approximately 10:30 a.m. today.
Anthony's release came about as a result of a $500,000 bond that was posted yesterday afternoon, by California Bounty Hunter Leonard Tony Padilla and his nephew, bail bondsman Tony Padilla.
Prior to her release, Anthony was briefed by officials at the jail, who fitted her with an electronic monitoring bracelet.
According to Anthony's attorney, José Baez, Anthony's freedom allots her the opportunity to help find her missing daughter.
"She is going to help find Caylee," Baez told the Orlando Sentinel. "There are certain things that the police haven't pursued. We're going to pursue that."
Yesterday, Leonard Padilla told ID that he had no plans of questioning Casey himself, however he did say that one of his associates would be with her at all times.
"We have people there for security because there have been a lot of threats against her and we don't want to be responsible for her getting killed," Padilla said, adding, "Threats are standard. If I don't get 10 threats a week people aren't paying attention to me."
Meanwhile, Robert Sabo, senior vice president of Financial Casualty & Surety Inc., the company that backed Casey's bond, issued the following statement:
"Personally, I believe that there is no punishment too severe for anyone that harms a child. However, I also believe in our Constitution and the vital function our industry serves in helping individuals with their constitutional rights."

What a shame. She probably SOLD her daughter - because she sure acts like she doesn't care about the situation at all. Either this is the coldest woman I've ever seen to have NO emotions at all or she is just PLAIN EVIL.

I wonder how long it will take them to get her back in there....

I would not want to be Casey Anthony now that she is out of jail? Is she free? No, she will never be free. For now she will have to live in the surroundings of her parents 24/7. She will have to live in the surroundings that Caylee herself once lived. All the memories there, she can't run from them. She can't pack up and leave home like she did in the past when she had enough of having to answer to her parents of what she was up to.
Casey cannot hide from herself.

Cathy you are absolutely right. She may just break having to face all those things. In the past 2 months she just ran away from it all.

Here is my opinion:
1) Casey killed her daughter.
2) Casey is a liar, she always has been. Her parents enabled her to get away with everything with not taking any responsibility for her actions. Every word that comes out of her mouth is a lie.
3) Casey's parents are in complete denial. They need to WAKE UP and get what the whole world sees-CASEY KILLED YOUR GRANDDAUGHTER.
4) The shady team with the cowboy hat isn't doing this to "help" he has his own agenda and I believe it is to make money from a dead child who's mother killed her-end of story.
5) If I lived close to Casey's parents house, I would be there long after the media frenzy, picketing with a picture of Caylee's face on it every day as a reminder that I (along with everyone else) knows she is a killer and is allowing her daughter to be buried in a pile of ground somewhere.
I am over her and her lies..I don't buy her crap for one second!

I do believe some good will come of her being out now. Won't be right away, but her family WILL realize that her stories aren't panning out. Perhaps when that happens, they will confront and be relentless about it...THEN the child will be found. I don't believe Casey will ever tell the truth, per se, but she will lead them to the body with, of course, some 'story' of an accident and how she was only sparing them the pain by not telling them when it first happened. She is going to scratch and claw her way to staying in the good graces of her family.
Just my two cents

Casey should have not have been in jail. Perhaps if she wasnt the thruth about Caylee would have been solved by end of June.

I wonder what twist and turn will now take place.
Now mind you this is just a thought NOT a prediction of maybe really happened------
Maybe something like George is really the father of Caylee and he has sexually abusing Casey for all these years and Casey was either afraid that he would do the same to Caylee or that he was doing the same to Caylee so Casey had Caylee "misplaced"-as Leonard Pailla puts it. Maybe that is all of the hush hush about the identity of the real father and maybe Cindy does not even know. And that is why Casey keeps saying she has to protect Caylee and her family.
Hey at this point it could even be that Casey claims aliens abducted Caylee.
I do feel that in whatever shape of form that Casey is directly connected to the vanishing Caylee. It really hurts my heart to imagine what the last few moments and the last images were for Caylee.

Padilla was rather boastful about getting Casey to talk to him because, after all, he would be as a best friend to her for bailing her out. Guess her lawyer put a stop to that. Now, what was that I heard him say? Oh yeah, he will know where Caylee is in a matter of five days! I will consider 8/22 the first day and counting. Casey truly believes her lies as truth. Hopefully she will snap out of her delusional world while at home where the grandparents are.

I could not agree with Angie's comment anymore. I would like to add one thing. What happens if someone gets a hold of this sick mother while she is out of jail, then we will never find little beautiful Caylee.
Posted by: Deanna H | August 21, 2008 at 11:13 PM
Shame that the intention to help find Caylee is a motive for greed on Leonard Padilla's part. MONEY. He keeps mentioning the reward. Think that is coincidental? Personally I think it will be a little while before any solid new info comes to light and it won't be via Casey Anthony .All want to nail her and shhow that Caylee deserves justice.
They just don't have enough nails for the coffin yet.

I find it very odd that the media or anyone else for that matter is overlooking the fact that Cindy and George Anthony went on vacation around the time all this seemed to hit the fan. Where did they go? Have the police followed up on anything the Anthony's did on their vacation????
Also isnt it sort of bizarre with all the calls that Casey made to everyone on the 16th ....why didnt anyone answer...especially her parents, and why didnt they call her back? When my daughter calls, I always call her back if I cant answer right away.
Personally I do believe that mom and pop know alot more than they are saying, to the extent that maybe Georges expertise as a cop helped pave the way Casey in her dealing with the police. Ie: maybe George told her to lie about everything...
Maybe she is only doing what daddy told her to do? Just a thought, although I cant help but spin on other scenarios due to this being the most BIZARRE case I have ever followed.
Another stinking suspicion is that Casey has no trust in her parents, and that perhaps they safe housed the little girl, just to have Casey put in jail.....I mean look how Cindy thru her under the bus from the get go then she's pretending
(to me she's pretending) to be super supportive of Casey...why would you call the police and ask them to arrest your daughter, then do a 180 turn and act sorry your kid is in jail...I mean where is the logic or love?
this whole family reeks of more dysfunction than anything I have ever seen. Just throwing out some food for thought, do want to believe the positive here. Every day makes it more unbelievable, the whole thing is just incredible.

KJ, don't be naive. what do you really think Leonard is doing right now?
Posted by: Anita | August 22, 2008 at 08:19 AM
Casey Anthony is defenitly quilty. i know she killed her beautiful little girl i hope they get the truth out of her soon. she deserves to be back in jail. She has no emotions and is acting like this is no big deal. Wake up Casey your facing the rest of your life in prison and that is what you deserve. I also think caseys parents are acting a little strange and they know more then they are saying. This whole story is just sickining.

WE have a problem....with the computer messaging on here. ANGIE DID NOT WRITE THOSE COMMENTS-I DID (SARAH) She wrote the ones that is UNDER MY NAME? Has this happened to anyone else????
Posted by: SARAH | August 22, 2008 at 02:44 PM
It blows my mind that Casey is out of Jail, and OH! YA! the Baby is still missing????
To me the Bond setting...A publicity stunt/media coverage for the Bondsmen!
Maybe it was just set up this way for Casey to have some time with her Family before she confesses! Although, Caylee never had that chance! Casey, Casey, Casey....WHAT ABOUT CAYLEE!!!! Gezzzzzz stop giving this Mother anymore media attention then she has already had!
MAJOR QUESTION?
Has anyone thought of checking to see if the parking lot where Casey abandon her car at, had any public video camera monitoring???? Most public parking lots are video monitored for the safety of the public and surrounding stores. From what I understand she left it (the car) parked in front of, or near a check cashing store? One would assume that they would have vidoe cameras very where, due to pontential robberies? Atleast they would be able to see what she was doing near the car before she left it! Hummmmm? I have never heard any media reports on this?
Obviously, the police don't have enough evidence to arrest Casey on Homicide charges or they would have done this a long time ago? Or they do have the evidence and they are wanting to see if Casey will reurn the scene of the crime, but SHE CAN'T LEAVE HER HOUSE....None of this case makes any sense, and hasn't from day one!, but hopefully they will find this little baby girl (Caylee) alive, and if by chance Casey has killed her Daughter, she needs to be brought home laid to rest!
Completely Disgusted by this entire case,
Kimberly

Well just like I thought she's out and nothing is going to change b/c Casey doesn't want it to change. She's just doing what she does best and that's lie and show no emotion, which judging by her actions in the month her daughter 1st went missing she's genetically incable. Since the family is just as delusional as she is and continue to protect and defend her she'll just let this thing continue hoping it will all go away. What's shocking to me is how comfortable she is under the most pressured situation a person can be in staying at home on house arrest w/h national media and security outside your house knowing they all know you have all the answers. What a psychopath! God bless Caylee.....

Nothing is going tobreak this nut. Im telling you she is so much more concerned with herself and you know what makes me sicker is how we are glamorizing this nasty women. She deserves to rot in jail! Enough media on her and more on this missing baby. She will sink her own ship its inevitable losers like this "just like scott peterson" end up slipping up and screwing up for a lifetime!

I would like to think that the bail bondsman is only there to make his claim on fame, and what kind of mother would sit there and tell lie after lie about her daughters' whereabouts unless she has something to hide. I think she knows something or did something and is leading the police away from what she really did to that poor girl. she is going to get away with murder...

Have the police had the video cameras outside local gas stations to see if Casey bought gas, and if Calyee was in the car, or to see what direction she was heading in. Perhaps volunteers could be asked to help by sitting and watching the videos for the car, reg. no. signs of caylee etc
Has the boyfriend been asked when he saw calyee last and where he and Casey went on their vacation etc.
Could Casey have sold her daughter to get money and the people who now have her have moved a long way away and perhaps changed her appearance. Anyone living within a few hundred miles who sees people with a girl child who hasnt appeared with them before and claims they have adopted her, should report it.

I think it is selfish on everyones part, that they are more worried about casey then they are caylee. Obviously she is a pathalogical lier, so y is she going to tell where caylee is. And this Cowboy guy, it is sad that he is trying to persue his company, or himself for publicity over poor caylee.I dont know if anyone followed up on the Bobby Cutts case, but i was one of the thousands off volunteers, but this case is more worried about protecting casey then they are caylee. Please come home safe Caylee!!!!

I think Casey was so into using drugs she has blacked out the memory of what she did to her child. My theory is that:
1) After Casey left home she used cloroform to sedate Caylee and locked her in the trunk of her car while she went into clubs to party.
2) Caylee was overdosed on the clorform and died. She probably wasn't discovered until the next day. Casey thinking only of her self as usual, panicked and left her body in the trunk while thinking what she should do.
3) I think she took Caylee's body and dumped her in a swamp and the alligators ate it.
4) I think Cindy is an enabler and knows now that her daughter killed Caylee.
5) I think George is so whipped he goes along with the women in the house.
6) The two innocent victims are of course Caylee and George.
I hope I am wrong.

I definately agree with Ashley, that is exactly what I think happened to little Caylee. Casey is so self centered and selfish that she only thinks of herself. Hearing her conversations with the investigators make me sick! She has absolutely no concern whatsoever for her daughter.
I hope they are able to find the remains of Caylee and lay her to rest!
Posted by: stephl | October 23, 2008 at 12:04 PM
I am glad that she has to be jailed at home. I think staying there and seeing all the things Caylee loved so much as a young innocent girl might just help her realize the life she took. She can sit there and imagine her playing with all her toys and animals. Maybe this will make her come to her senses and tell what really happened. It may take some time but I think that the pressure of seeing that beautiful little one everywhere she goes will either make her or break her. Im hoping it will break her like she broke Caylee. I truly believe in my heart that she killed her little girl. And if she has ever loved her she will tell the truth. I could never imagine harming my children and if something ever happened to them I would certainly not lie about it. I would want to find them and would not stop until I either did or died.

Casey deserves to be in Prison until the day that the devil wants to take her. She "allegedly" killed her poor daughter, and that she knows. out partying while you have a daughter missing is non sense. lying to authoritys is worse. and knowing that you killed your own daughter that the lord brought into the world is disgust. have fun in prison casey anthony....i hope you get what you deserve. Caylee Anthony and grandparents are in my thoughts and prayers. you will be remembered forever Caylee<3

When my wife killed my son, I had a lot of people including the police accuse me, and strange thing is over a decade later I blame myself. Before I accuse Casey of murder, I would like to see some actual evidence. Like, I don't know a body maybe. After my ordeal I was distraught, but I did not cry for nearly 2 years, I hung out with friends who tried to cheer me up, and I ran away from what was happening. Wait I did cry 1 time b4 then the day it happened for about 20 seconds, and apologized to the detective, as if crying was wrong. I can't come close to describing how I felt, but I know I did not react like I would expect a person to react. You don't know how you will react, and hopefully none of you ever will, but until you have been in the same situation don't try to judge others!!!
