The killer seems organized. Having the neccessary tools to commit the crime. Does He (or they) live near the Town Mall? Does the mall have any significant meaning? Or is it just a convenient location in order to subdue and kill prefferred types?
It isnt impossible, but would definitely be difficult to subdue two people at once. Which makes me wonder if there may have been two killers. (its odd that certain personal effects are missing also, which may point at trophy collecting to relive the experience of the killing)
there is an underlining need for control and domination in the style of murder. But regardless of the amount of pent up rage the killer has, he has enough surface calm to go about daily life without raising too many red flags.
When he gets caught, I wont be surprised if I read that he lives in the area, has an unsteady work history, drug problems now, or in the past. And There will be blame put on a domineering domestic figure(s) that causes stress in his daily life.
I pray for a quick resolution, and justice for the Victims.

I somewhat agree J, aside from the classical Trophy Collecting deduction and generalization of motive. The Killers seem to be targeting individuals in order to rob them. possibly to support a drug habit,or other similar lifestyle.
They have a decent awareness of forensics, and covering their tracks, and are definitely comfortable with the killing aspects of the crime...but I dont think the killer (or killers) personally enjoys it much. To him its just a means to an end. The victims are killed because the killer dosent want to get caught. (But the main reason they kill is for money)
