British Shorthair Kittens Dancing
A family of british short-haired kittens dance to the theme song from Crusha, a television ad for, what else, milk mix. Very cute.

Nothing says "persistence" like a cat that's been left out for too long. Calculating exactly how long that is is something cat scientists have been working on for years. The sheer number of variables is mind-boggling: age, temperament, time since last outing, number of new scents in backyard, number of birds in bird feeder, proximity of neighborhood dogs, etc. Until the formula is identified, cat owners can unfortunately continue to look forward to scenes like this. Our advice: stock up on reinforced glass windows.
Mean Kitty update! Sparta, who we featured a couple weeks ago in our "Mean Kitty Song" blog entry, has recently been showing signs of strange behavior. In this latest video, owner Cory "Mr. Safety" Williams explains that his once small, fuzzy, mean kitty has grown up to be a big, fuzzy, mean kitty with a few unusual personality quirks. Cory was able to capture a few of these on film. From unexplained herding behavior to mysterious sock obsession, Sparta has developed an identity crisis of a magnitude that perhaps only a certified cat psychologist can make heads or tiger-striped tails of. See for yourself.
Have you ever wondered what your pets would say if they could talk? Well wonder no longer! The secrets of what goes on inside the family cat's mind have at long last been revealed in this popular YouTube clip. The only problem is... where's a translator when you need one!? If someone can decipher what sounds like a half-broken talking baby doll that's been sped up and run backwards, please let us know. Until then, we'll assume she's saying, "Your video camera is melting my brain!"
Happy Valentine's Day to animal lovers (and animals who love one another) everywhere!
If you're anywhere near the East Coast today, you may be feeling a bit miserable right now. The clouds are out, it's chilly, it's rainy, there's ice everywhere... The perfect recipe for feeling down and gloomy.
Well it's a good thing that you check Animal Planet's: Best Videos of the Web blog everyday because you're about to get cheered up beyond belief. Today we present: a dancing kitty! Mind you, this isn't just *any* dancing kitty, but *the* most popular dancing kitty on all of YouTube. And he sings too! If he can't chase your blues away, then... well, watch it again!
When wild meets domestic, anything can happen! Tentative approaches, apprehensive nuzzles, skittish retreats... The possibilities are exciting and endless!
In this, the first in a multi-part series of "Kitten Meets Fawn" videos, we witness the initial step in a longer courtship process, one that may ultimately pave the way for full-scale kitty-deer integration in the future. One can only imagine what future installments in this series may have in store: kitties and fawns walking paw in hoof, snuggling together by the fireplace, enjoying long soaks in the hot tub, shopping for drapes at Bed, Bath and Beyond, etc. It's an exciting time to be a kitty and/or deer lover. An exciting time indeed.
Someone must not have told Hayvan that chocolate + kitty = bad combination. Someone must also not have told him about the modern wonder of clear plastic lids. This may be useful information for those of you in need of cat-proofing your homes. Sofa being used as a scratching post? Drop a gigantic plastic cake lid over it and voila! Safely sealed away from destruction-prone kitties of any stripe. Final tally in the contest of Kitty vs. Plastic Cake Lid: Lid, 1, Kitty, 0. Oh well, Hayvan's persistence is what counts. Hopefully he received a healthy kitty snack afterwards (instead of more derisive laughter — we hear you, camera guy!)
In our continuing series of not-so-nice kitty videos, we present "The Mean Kitty Song." Written and performed by Cory "Mr. Safety" Williams. "The Mean Kitty Song" is currently the second most popular animal video on YouTube (right behind "Battle at Kruger"). It represents a slightly different twist on not-so-nice kitties from yesterday's "Bad Kitty" video. For starters, unlike "Bad Kitty," it doesn't end in a blood-filled rampage w/ premature burial (can't believe we posted that!) In fact, this so-called "mean kitty" may - *may*, mind you - be simply misunderstood. Now, although we'd never put this guy up against Jay-Z, Rakim or MF Doom as a hip hop lyricist, he does have a way of eloquently expressing the bad kitty phenomenon in what amounts to an extremely goofy rap song. Check it out.
["The Mean Kitty Song" otherwise known as "Hey Little Sparta," also known as "Mean Kitty in the Hour of Chaos," aka "Nuthin' But a 'Kitty' Thang," aka "K.R.E.A.M. (Kitty Ruined Everything Around Me)," aka "Mama Said Scratch Your Eyeballs Out."]
WARNING: Contains a few not-so-nice words.
WARNING: Today's video features a bad kitty.
A very bad kitty.
An *extremely* bad kitty.
In fact, you may want to put the kids to bed before loading this one up. We present it in the spirit of a public service announcement: Remember, not all kitties are sweet and innocent. Some have dark sides and shouldn't be rifled. Please monitor your kitty for signs of malcontent, misanthropy and diabolical sideways glances. Only YOU can prevent heinous acts of kitty evil.
