Rare, Threatened, Endangered

This is What a Randy Condor Looks Like

04/11/2013

CondorIf you were a male California condor looking to get a little action and procreate, you wouldn't send flowers or ask your lady out on a date.  No, you would do a strange mating dance that involves shuffling and swaying around with your wings open to show just how big and handsome you are.

In addition to being huge and crazy-looking, California condors are one the most endangered bird species on the planet, with only a few hundred in existence.  They only survive today because of dedicated conservation efforts and strong endangered species laws.

Special thanks to my pal David Moen for sharing this video and for the work he does to save this species.
