How to Catch a Fish with No Jaws
05/13/2013
How do you go fishing for a fish that doesn't have jaws and won't bite on a line with a hook? I'm talking about one of the oddest fish species out there: the sea lamprey.
Lampreys don't feed on smaller fish. Instead, they use their round, disc shaped mouths --which are ringed with sharp hook-like teeth--to attach themselves to larger animals and, in true vampire fashion, suck out a blood and body fluid meal.
In the video below, extreme angler Jeremy Wade tells you the unconventional way he goes about catching lampreys. You can catch Jeremy on River Monsters Sundays at 9pm E/P.
