Bald Eagles Take Over a Parking Lot

Bald EagleSome bald eagles in Alaska recently decided to have a get-together.  Nothing too special about that; bald eagles can be gregarious, especially around food sources. What's odd about this particular gathering is that it happened in the parking lot of a Safeway grocery store.  In the back of a pickup truck.

Turns out that the birds were gathering to take advantage of a bounty of fish carcasses being stored in the truck.  Bald eagles are fish eagles and are also big scavengers, so it's no wonder they couldn't pass up such an easy meal.

So many eagles showed up that the cops had to be called to break things up.  Check out the video below and then listen to a radio report here.
