Amazing Animal Rescue: Elk Saves Marmot From Drowning

Altruism in the animal world isn't particularly common, and it's usually reserved for closely related individuals that share the same genetic material, or at least to members of the same species. The video below blows all of that out of the water.
In it you'll see images of a male elk in an Idaho zoo displaying some pretty odd behavior as he rescues a marmot (a relative of the groundhog) from certain doom.
