This Baby Takin is Takin' His First Steps

One of the world's strangest animals is the takin.  Takins look like they are part horse, part goat, and part bear.  

To me, they look like a creature out of the Star Wars universe.

Takins are actually large, shaggy goat-antelopes found in the Himalayas and western China.  They are well adapted for their cold, mountainous habitats.  They are listed as a vulnerable species due to habitat loss.

The San Diego Zoo recently debuted their newest takin, and boy, is he a cutie!  Check out the photos below and then head over to ZooBorns to see the rest.
