Dead Cat Becomes Helicopter

06/04/2012

This is quite possibly the oddest animal story I've ever featured here.

OrvillecopterDutch artist and cat lover Bart Jansen suffered a terrible blow when his beloved cat Orville was struck by a car and killed.  Orville was named after one of the Wright brothers, the fathers of aviation, a sign that Jansen might have an odd obsession with the subject of flight.

That's born out by what Jansen decided to do with Orville's body: he stuffed it and turned it into a helicopter.  Orville's is now permanently in a spread-eagle position, with small propellors attached to each foot, and he's fully capable of flying.

Watch the video to see the "Orvillecopter" in action.

Click over the Daily Mail's website for more of photos of Orville in his new life.
