Zebra Chews Rhino's Horn
03/28/2012
Here's a great example of odd animal companions. According to the description of the YouTube video below, this odd footage was captured at Zoo Malacca in Malaysia. It features a zebra and a rhinoceros who are very friendly with each other--perhaps a little too friendly for the rhino's liking.
You don't normally see zebras and rhinos in the same enclosure and I don't know the back story here, but it looks to like these animals have known each other for a while, perhaps since their youth, and are quite comfortable with each other. Otherwise the zebra probably wouldn't have gotten away with its antics.
I actually feel bad for the rhino, who seems to just want to go about his business while his pesky friend can't stop trying to nibble on his horn.
