Identity of Chupacabra Revealed
01/05/2011
A man shot a strange animal in Kentucky recently, sparking rumors that a real life chupacabra had finally been brought to science. To the dismay of cryptozoologists everywhere, testing has finally revealed the creature to be something equally odd, but not quite a chupacabra.
Turns out, the naked, gray-skinned animal was just a raccoon with a disorder that caused it to lack hair. For some as-yet-unknown reason, such hairless animals are apparently being reported more frequently than ever before in Kentucky.
Admittedly, the poor raccoon was bizarre-looking and I can see why someone would think it was something supernatural or a species unkown to science. Watch this video to learn more.

my question is why did the man shoot the poor animal? just because it was unusual? when will we start to respect beings that are different?
"I got my rifle to shoot it, get a closer look", that's what the man said. and I think it's sad for a human being to think like that.

Kinda looks like a hairless cat or dog to me. Some are completely hairless. I've recently meet a very nice gentlman. That has 2 hairless dogs. This looks like that.
I'm not convinced it's a racoon.
Good luck

Yep, Shoot first and ask questions later.... like "Why do we have no animals left?"

idiot

Raccoons have pointed ears like a cat. This animal has rounded ears.....

It's obviously a raccoon, look at the paws. Also, raccoon ears only look pointed ears, underneath their ears are more rounded.

looks like a hairless cat to me...

Brenda, I foster orphaned raccoons and it definitely looks like one to me. They sure are a lot cuter with fur, though. LOL

All of you are complete idiots. Especially the stupid braud who said why kill the poor thing? Maybe because its a disease carrying nuisance. This country never ceaces to amaze me with stupidity.

Go to "China Fur Farms "and they will show you how they skin animals alive! Really heartbreaking and while you're at it, please petition against this inhumane act! IN THE VIDEO,(WHICH YOU MAY NEVER SLEEP AGAIN)SHOWS THEM SKINNING A RACCOON, ALIVE, AND DOES LOOK VERY SIMILAR TO THI ANIMAL IN THE PHOTO. AT LEAST THIS ONE IS DEAD, AND OUT OF ITS MISERY, CHINA FUR FARMS ,TOSSES THE LIVE ANIMALS IN A PILE, AFTER SKINNING THEM AND THEY ARE STILL ALIVE AND MOVING! DOGS, CATS, AND WILD ANIMALS AS WELL!

Raccoon. Raccoons actually don't have pointed ears.
People who are aggressive with both words and guns never CEASE to amaze me. Someone who calls others stupid but can't spell CEASE should step away from the keyboard.

I agree, this country has a lot of stupid in it... and JOM is an example of that!
Does it SAY anywhere that just because the poor raccoon was hairless that it was carrying a disease!? Do we shoot HUMANS who carry diseases!? NO!
I think it is amusing that people thought it was a chupacabra but agree that it looks like a raccoon - sorry he killed it.

No kidding john! That animal obviously has something wrong with it, shoot first ask questions later is THE RIGHT THING!! Who knows if that thing could have hurt someone. Ever think of that? No, cuz ur to concerned with the cute fluffy raccoon it once was.

To the people who keep sayings it is a cat or dog. Dogs and cats have 4 digits on their front feet(not counting the the dew claw if they have one)and if you watch the video at 16 seconds it clearly shows the animal has 5 digits. Now stop watching nature on the internet and TV and go outside.

Anyone who knows anything about animals can see that it is clearly a raccoon!!! Just take a closer look at the animals paws. Raccoons have very unique feet and leave unmistakable tracks!!!!

Ooooo...and another thing...if this man ownes guns and lives in kentucky...he is probably a hunter as well and knew what the poor animal was!!! Hes just looking for a few seconds of fame and an easy dollar. But, its not so easy to fool someone that is educated outside the state of kentucky!

Leave it to the hillbillies in Kentucky to whip out their gun and start shooting. And "Jom" must be one of them.

There are no raccoons in Puerto Rico so that would still not explain the original Chupacabra events.

Sick animals need help. Not a bullet. There are many dangerous people on the streets that can and HAVE hurt someone. I ran into one just this week that wanted to kill me bacause I wouldnt give him money. Had to call the cops because I was in fear for my life. Doesnt mean he needs a bullet, he is absolutely crazy...he needs help just like that animal did!!!!
Posted by: Crystal | 01/06/2011 at 09:41 PM
poor thing:(
and I'm sure the disorder is genetic, just as it is for the hairless dogs & cats and will not hurt anyone or spread anything to humans.
I wish it were legal to go & hunt some humans sometimes,to get rid of stupidness ..sheesh

No regard for life. How sad. :(
Anyway, it's not a hairless cat. Cats don't have snouts.

It's just a shame that animals don't have guns to defend themselves. It really takes a big person to shoot a poor little animal. I would protect an animal before some people.

this may be a sudden change i.e termed mutation just the mouth(SKULL) is similar to raccoon but else part don't seems like raccoon.this creature may be the cross breed of two species might be with honey baser

Why on earth did this man shoot it? If you aren't sure what it is and you want to know, trap it with a live trap, take it to someone who can identify it and then set it free. I hate people who shoot anything that comes on their property. Did it attack him? Don't think so. It was just trying to eat like the rest of them. Grrrr.

Hey Jom, it's broad, not braud--but then again, maybe braud goes with your comments about stupidity and idiots. --Just saying...
