Funny Talking Animals
The BBC has posted a series of hysterically odd animal videos on YouTube that feature wild animal footage with voiceover by a troup of comedians. They make me realize how easy it is to misinterpret animal behavior when we anthropomorphize it. For example, in the clip below the giraffes are actually males engaging in a ritual form of fighting for mating rights (called, not surprisingly, necking), not a bickering married couple as the voiceover portrays them. As a naturalist, I can't help but notice this kind of thing, but I promise I will try to not overanalyze and grow a sense of humor.
And I sure hope the marmot eventually find Alan (or Steve).
