Zoo Animals Find Love Online

Single Non-smoking Cougar Seeks Same

Desperate zookeepers have resorted to online matchmaking to find compatible mates for their lovelorn zoo animals.T he Association of Zoos and Aquariums' Population Management Center have been developing a web page with thousands of single animals who are ready to endulge in a little romance.

The database contains the reproductive details of each animal and organizes the information in an online profile. Their profile contains information such as their location, genetics, behavior, the conservation status of their species, their hobbies (...red meat & competitive hunting?), and astrological signs. Fifty-five percent of the listed animals are on the endandered species list.

Through the online profiles, the association hopes to find compatible matches for endangered animals and give them an opportunity to breed with other animals within their species.

So far, the website has garnered positive results. Two river otters have successfully mated and gave birth to two baby otters last year. Congratulations!
