Shar Pei Nurses Two Endangered Tiger Cubs
06/07/2012
Currently, there are less than 400 Siberian tigers living in the wild -- which is why it is so heartwarming to see dogs being so passionate about wildlife conservation.
A sweet Shar Pei, named Cleopatra, took it upon herself to nurse two young Siberian tiger cubs after their mother abandoned them.

The cubs, named Clyopa and Plyusha, were born in late May in a zoo near Moscow, Russia. While currently nursing with Cleopatra, they are also fed goat's milk by zookeepers.
"She accepted them right away," assistant zoo director, Viktoria Kudlayeva, related the Associated Press. "She's cleaning them and breast feeding them as if they were her own. And they also sleep together."
As for Cleopatra, Kudlayeva said that the cubs pose no danger to the dog, since thet depend on her for feeding.
