Pudding the Portly Puddy-Tat Saves Owner Just Hours After Being Adopted
02/27/2012
Who needs 911 when you've got Pudding in the house?
Amy Jung and her son Ethan only planned to play with the cats at The Humane Society in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin last week, but her decision to ultimately adopt kitties "Pudding" and "Wimsy" might have just saved her life! After bringing Pudding and Wimsy home last Wednesday, Jung, who has had diabetes since childhood, had a diabetic seizure in her sleep that same night. Amazingly, Pudding sprang into action.

According to the Green Bay Press Gazette, portly Pudding sat on Jung’s chest and nudged and nipped Jung's face until she briefly woke up. Jung called for her son, but he didn’t hear her. So Pudding took off running, darting into Ethan’s room and pouncing on the sleeping boy. After Ethan woke and became aware of the situation, he called for help.

Jung credits Pudding with saving her life, and related to the Press Gazette that without Pudding, she wouldn’t have made it through the night.

This story was originally written by Samantha Hernandez, and was published in the Door County Advocate, not the Green Bay Press Gazette. The two papers are owned by the same company, so when this story was originally stolen, it was attributed to the wrong paper. It is a great story about a wonderful pet, but the original writer should also be getting credit!
