Incredible Dolphin Superpod 'Stampede' Caught On Video

Whale watchers in Dana Point, California caught this incredible dolphin superpod on footage earlier this week, where an estimated 2,000 dolphins convened and 'stampeded' together across the ocean for this spectacular event!

Most dolphin species have developed socially communal and cooperative hunting practices, as searching for food as a group is more efficient than searching individually. Dolphins understand and take advantage of the value of strength in numbers, and working as a collective team. 

 

 Dolphins are social animals, usually living in pods with up to a dozen individuals. Groups of dolphins will work in cooperation to hunt by merging temporarily to form a giant mob of dolphins known as a superpod. Communal food gatherings such as these often exceed 1,000 dolphins. The size of a superpod is probably determined by the number of dolphins able to be sustained by the school of prey.

so i was wondering what type of boat they used to just sail right into that "superpod" of dolphins. hopefully it was a sail boat and not a bladed boat engine.
