Tom Hanks Says Goodbye To Beloved Dog

Tom Hanks, star of the recently released movie, "Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close" shared with his Twitter followers the loss of his dog beloved dog Monty last week, posting the above image of his dear boy to his WhoSay page with the caption "Monty. Deep brown eyes, noble demeanor, finest dog ever. A sad day. Goodbye Big Boy."

Fans have been quick to rush to comfort Hanks, according to the Daily Mail, with one user writing: 'One of the hardest things in life is losing a beloved pet. I am sorry for the loss of Monty, he was a great dog. One day you will be re-united with him, but until then he'll be always be with you in your heart and in your thoughts. God Bless, Mr. Hanks.'

Other fans are encouraging Hanks to get a new dog as soon as possible to help him get over his loss.

Hanks has spoken about Monty in the past and in 2009 he considered moving to a new home in California because his home became infested with a terrible stink after a skunk attacked Monty and his other German Shepherd. The smell was so bad, that Hanks intimated  that he was going to have to "move out" because it smelled so bad.

Sorry for your loss Tom. I lost a very good dog 6 years ago... I didn't want another pet because I didn't think any other could take her place. Well we now have tinkerbell (who is a stinker) but we love her. No pet will ever replace Angel but we still love Tinkerbell all the same. Blessings to you and your family.

So sorry for Tom Hanks over the loss of his beloved, Monty. I have lost my animal family members before. I sure hope his compassion extends to all animals, including those suffering the horrors of factory "farms." These poor victims need our intercession and the words and deeds of a celeb (and a kind one) like Tom Hanks could be huge. Imagine if tomorrow Tom Hanks decided to dedicate himself to ending the suffering of farm animals in these animal Auschwitz's they find themselves in through no fault of their own,innocent victims of this horrible system. I think it would help a lot. In the meantime, everyone, please watch "Farm to Fridge", produced by Mercy for Animals. I hope Tom Hanks will fill the void left by Monty with his help in liberating these suffering, abused farm animals.
